Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website or application. They allow the website to remember information about your visit, such as your preferred language and other settings. This makes your next visit to the website easier and the website more useful to you.

2. How We Use Cookies

EquiLog uses cookies for the following purposes:

  • Authentication: To keep you logged in and maintain your session
  • Preferences: To remember your settings and preferences
  • Analytics: To understand how you use EquiLog and improve our services
  • Security: To protect your account and detect fraudulent activity
  • Performance: To optimize website speed and functionality

3. Types of Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the website to function properly. They enable core functionality such as security, network management, and accessibility. You cannot opt-out of these cookies as they are required for the site to work.

Performance Cookies

These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website by collecting and reporting information anonymously. This helps us improve the performance and design of our site.

Functional Cookies

These cookies allow EquiLog to remember choices you make (such as your username, language, or the region you are in) and provide enhanced, more personalized features.

4. Local Storage and PWA Data (EquiTrack)

In addition to cookies, the EquiTrack progressive web app uses your browser's localStorage to store data that enables key functionality. This is distinct from cookies but serves a similar purpose of persisting information on your device. Specifically, EquiTrack uses localStorage to:

  • GPS Session Recovery: Save your active ride session (route, distance, duration) so it can be restored if the app is closed or the screen turns off mid-ride
  • Offline Ride Buffer: Temporarily store ride data when you are offline, so it can be synced to your account when connectivity is restored

This locally stored data is tied to your device and browser only. It is not transmitted to any third party and is automatically cleared once the ride is saved or discarded.

5. Third-Party Cookies

EquiLog uses third-party services that may place cookies on your device. These include Base44 authentication services and analytics providers. We do not control these third-party cookies, and we encourage you to review their cookie policies.

6. How to Control Cookies

You can control and/or delete cookies as you wish. Most web browsers allow you to refuse cookies or alert you when cookies are being sent. You can delete all cookies that are already on your device and set most browsers to prevent them from being placed.

Note: If you disable essential cookies, some features of EquiLog may not function properly.

7. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Your continued use of EquiLog following the posting of revised Cookie Policy means that you accept and agree to the changes.
